Warton Crag 2016

Firstly I'd like to thank the small team that we have who spend hours of their time putting this race together. Well done Helen Deason, Mick Pearcy and Julie Pearcy

Can I also thank all the Marshals and runners for a fantastic job without the Marshals, runners would not be able to take part.

This year's race was a very eventful one, we had to overcome a number of problems pre, during and post race. Briefly: Natural England where not as keen as normal, Wedding party at Leighton Hall arriving the same time as us, two hours before the race we checked the route to find someone had altered the course which would have sent runners in loads of different directions and then we had the Cows! 30 of them broke down a fence and joined the runners along Chapel Walk, thankfully nobody was hurt by them.

With all this in my mind and what could have been,  I feel it's time to hang up my stopwatch and take to the hills.

A massive thank you to every one that has taken part, allowed us to use the land and given up their time to help out.

Please feel free to step up and take over this little event, I'd like to race it one year.

Results are now up

Many thanks

Dave Deason
